HoneyB's Nanny's Cookies

I am paired with HoneyB as well for this month's Taste and Create. I love her blog title :The Life and Loves of Grumpy's Honeybunch. Do visit her to read about who she loves, what she loves and what she loves to do.
It is obvious from her writings that she is very fond of her nanny. and yes I did choose her nanny's cookies for the event. These are her favourite and now one of mine too..
I used the same ingredients as per her recipe excepting for these :
  1. I used lemon rind instead of the orange rind
  2. In spite of using 2 cups of flour,my dough was very very sticky. Another cup of flour made it stay together.
  3. I used 1 1/2 tsps of nutmeg for a more prominent flavour.

The cookies were delicious, light and perfect as a tea snack. I was someone who hated nutmeg as a spice, but I loved these cookies . They are sweet but very tenderly sweet. The spice does not overpower as well..

HoneyB's cookies are also off to the Think Spice Event.

15 bites:

  1. They do look pretty good, Rachel. I don't particularly like very sweet cookies either.
    Thanks for the entry.

  9. This post made me so emotional. To read someone else say how special my nanny was to me. She's been gone almost 5 years already and I still have tears come to my eyes when I remember.

If my nanny only knew that her cookie recipe made it as far as it did when you tried it out! Thanks Rachel. You gave something special to not only me, but to my grandmother.
